Doe Number 24
- one act playy - 2m 1f + 2m/f, single set - scripts FREE (via email), performances £10 each
is a sad
dramatisation about the real life blind, deaf mute man known only
as John Doe Number 24. He was discovered in Jacksonville, Illinois as a
sent to a succession of hospitals and institutions, but they never
his name or traced any relatives throughout his life. At first thought
they discovered he was actually very intelligent, with a love of jazz.
is very short, but gets the message across. It was inspired by the song
same name by Mary-Chapin Carpenter on her album "Stones in the Road".
